TransJamaican Highway Limited (TJH) announced an interim dividend payment of JMD$0.1866 per share on September 26 through the Jamaica Stock Exchange website. The payment will be made on October 25, 2023 to shareholders on record at the close of business on October 10, 2023. The ex-dividend date is October 9, 2023.

This dividend is more than 100% higher than the dividend paid last year which was JMD$0.0855 paid on October 25, 2022. 

When TJH released their prospectus they made the following projections for Dividends:

Average of 5.3% to 8.7% in 2020-2025 

Average of 24.5% to 35.8% thereafter

Overall average of 18.8% to 27.8% for the period of 2020-2036

If you calculate the dividend yield based on its IPO price then you’d get a yield of 13.23% which is why we consider this a massive dividend.

We’ve also seen growth for the company overall’s performance. Revenues up 20% for the six months ended June 2023 of US$36.2 million. More impressive was the Net Profit of US$11 million.
